about us

PLANET QUEER is a LGBTQ+ art collective that produces performance events, film and music festivals, mentoring, and more. We are committed to providing a consistent venue for the development of new LGBTQ+ work in order to further the liberation of all people with creativity and community. PQ has been a major hub for Los Angeles underground experimental queer performance since 2012 featuring more than 600 LGBTQ+ artists.

Performance activist Ian MacKinnon hosts a monthly cabaret featuring performance art, music, dance, film, burlesque, drag, and anything queer and experimental.

Previously PQ was known as "Queer Mondays" which was an un-curated, non-elitist, queer performance event that ran monthly from 2009 to 2012 at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica.
